If you wish to submit an article for publication in the Research Reports on Ancient Maya Writing, please refer to the style guide. We prefer a short report of ten single-spaced pages or fewer, which should include main text, illustrations, acknowledgments, notes (if any), figure captions, the sources for the illustration of every image and each figure, and the list of references (including those serving as illustration sources). The editor would appreciate the preliminary verification by the author(s) that all such sources cited do, indeed, appear in the list of references. Please submit text in both printed and electronic formats (PC-compatible on CD-ROM, 3.5" disc, or Zip disc) using Palatino or Book Antigua font, 11-point size, and one-inch margins. In your correspondence, please include you name, address (both postal and e-mail), and telephone number.
The Center for Maya Research reserves the right to reject articles submitted for publication. We reserve the right to modify any illustration in the interests of accuracy, clarity, and space, and also the right to manipulate the size and arrangement of illustrations in keeping with our format and layout, even adding elements that we judge desirable, or in certain cases dropping material which we consider extraneous. Text will also be edited for clarity and space. Any and all such modifications that go beyond the bounds of routine editing and styling will, of course, be subject to perusal by the author(s). In our quest to help in establishing a framework of general standards for the field of Maya epigraphic study, we will appreciate any constructive comments from those of you who read and use the Research Reports on Ancient Maya Writing. |
